Crime

Barrels of drug waste were found in six places in #Lommel in #Limburg (BE) over the course of a mere six hours. The latest find is concerning smaller dumps of around 20 to 25 barrels each, bringing the total to more than 100 barrels of about 20 litres. Thankfully not one vessel had leaked. The first barrels were discovered late Monday evening in Lommel in the remote Vlieguitstraat and in the Vijverstraat. Early this morning suspicious barrels were found in the Norbert Neeckxlaan and near the new crematorium. A little later there was added in the area of the Slinkerstraat on the canal. The judicial laboratory has taken samples to find out which acids and bases are in the barrels. The federal police are conducting the further investigation. They are investigating whether there is a link between the dumps. There are a few similarities, among other things, the barrels are the same type and contain the same liquids. The Lommel fire brigade took measurements to see if toxic liquids or gases escaped and no leaks were discovered.
