During the Foire Agricole de Battice, Province de Liège announced the winners of the “Local beer and wine award”. The judging panel consisting of culinary specialists, critics and cuisine-aficionados. Eight categories were in contest in the "Bières" category, a challenge for the 18 breweries in competition. The winning beers were: Ale: Sainte Nitouche Blanche – Brasserie Sainte Nitouche (Beyne-Heusay) Pale & Amber: Lienne – Brasserie de la Lienne (Lierneux) Double: L’Esperluette Gla-gla – Brasse&vous, Liège (Liège) Triple: Park Triple - Belgium Park Beer (Sourbrodt) Fruit Beer: The Pom – Brasserie Grain d'Orge - Brice & Joup (Hombourg) Stouts & porter: Botteresse Noire – Brasserie La Botteresse de Sur-les-Bois (Saint-Georges) Innovative: Elfique IPA - Brasserie Elfique (Aywaille) Woody Innovative: Woody - Brasserie de le Lienne (Lierneux) A more exhaustive list, together with the winners of the provincial wine awards can be found at the RTC Télé Liège website.
