Education

CITAVERDE College in #Roermond has received a total of 1.9m euro to improve their MBO equestrian training. The stipulation of receiving the funds is to ensure a better connection between the training available and the demand of the #Limburg (NL) equestrian industry. The funds have been granted by the government, the province, various municipalities and the business community. The middelbaar beroepsonderwijs – MBO (intermediate vocational education) course has been operational since August this year. The students intern at selected organisations one day a week. This enables them to experience how broad the sector is. The work experience can be carried out at a breeder, riding school or equestrian supplies outlet. They receive practical lessons one day a week at Manege Op de Berg in #Echtand Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen in #Kronenberg. They spend the rest of the week at college in Roermond. The equestrian industry in Limburg fears it will see a shortage of well-trained personnel in the coming years. Breeding centres, riding schools, dressage and jumping stables, transporters, recreation companies and equestrian retail outlets are in dire need of professional staff. #Citaverdehas drawn up this major improvement plan to meet this demand. The collaboration must prove its worth by the end of 2022 to be able to continue. Source: de Limburger Photo: Citaverde
