European Universities Initiative ENHANCE discusses the pandemic’s effects

RWTH Aachen University and six other universities are hosting a digital launch event on Friday, 12 March within the framework of ENHANCE – European Universities of Technology Alliance.

In the European Universities Initiative programme, funded by the European Commission, RWTH Aachen University has been working together with Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), the Politecnico di Milano (Italy), the Technische Universität Berlin (Germany), the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) and the Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) since 2020. ENHANCE aims to empower people to further develop and use science and technology for the society’s benefit and to transform global challenges into opportunities.

The launch event Launching the Future – University of Technology in the light of the covid pandemic will start at 09:00. The focus is on the question of how universities, with their role in society, can meet the pandemic’s challenges. How does the pandemic reinforce trends and changes within society, in research and teaching? What opportunities are there? Which challenges can be solved more easily on a European level? Will people soon reject digitalisation or will universities become even more virtual? What does this mean for life on campus and for international cooperation? How will university administration, research and teaching work in the future?
