StädteRegion Aachen: New relaxations according to stage 2 from Sunday 6 June

As the incidence rate has been below 50 for five consecutive working days on Friday 4 June, further relaxations according to stage 2 (incidence rate of 50 - 35.1) take effect as of Sunday 6 June. [Last week Meuse-Rhine Gazette reported on the previous relaxations according to stage 3.]


In the following sectors new relaxations according to stage 2 do now apply:


Contact restrictions

Gatherings in public spaces are allowed without limitation for members of three households, as well as for ten persons with a negative test result from any household.


Extra-curricular education

Face-to-face classes can take place without having to keep the minimum distances if everyone has a negative test result. Everyone needs to be allocated a fixed place to sit according to a seating arrangement.

Indoor music lessons including singing/wind instruments can take place with up to 20 people who can show a negative test result.


Child and youth work offers

Group offers that take place indoors can take place with up to 20 people without masks but with a negative test result. Outdoors, they can take place with up to 30 young people without an age limit, without a mask but with a negative test result.


Cultural sector

Concerts that take place indoors, as well as theatre, opera and cinemas can welcome up to 500 people (a seating plan is necessary) and a negative test result. A seating arrangement according to a chequerboard pattern should be in place.

Non-professional rehearsals, including singing and the use of wind instruments, are possible indoors with up to 20 people, a negative test result and without prior appointment booking. The same counts for museums.


Sport

Outdoors, contact sport is possible with up to 25 people.

Non-contact sport is possible without any limitation in the number of people.

Indoors, (incl. gyms) non-contact sport is possible without any limitation in the number of people. Contact sport indoors is possible with up to 12 people. Both requires contact tracing and a negative test result.

Outside up to 1,000 spectators are allowed (max. 33 per cent of the full capacity) without having to show a negative test result.

Indoors up to 500 spectators are allowed with a negative test result. A seating arrangement according to a chequerboard pattern should be in place.


Leisure

All swimming pools, baths, saunas, etc. and indoor playgrounds may open again with a negative test result and a limit in the number of people.

If the nationwide incidence rate is also below 50, amusement parks and casinos may also reopen with negative test results and a limited number of people.

Also, if the nationwide incidence rate is below 50, excursions with boats, carriages, historical railways and similar facilities may reopen with a negative test result.


Tourism and accommodation

Every rule that applies for level 3 is still in effect [see here] with the additional relaxation that full catering is allowed for guests.


Trade fairs and markets

Funfairs and special markets are possible with limitations in the amount of people. Special elements such as fairground rides or similar facilities are permissible with a negative test result.


Retail trade that does not provide basic supplies

The person limit in shops is relaxed to one person per 10 sqm.


Restaurants and cafés

Outdoor gastronomy may continue without having to show a negative test result.

Also indoor gastronomy is possible now but with a negative test result and the requirement to have a fixed place to sit or stand.

For company employees canteens may reopen without having to show a negative test result.


Conventions and conferences

Conventions and conferences are possible with up to 500 participants and a negative test result, outdoors as well as indoors.


Private events (no parties)

Outdoors, private events are allowed with up to 100 guests. Indoors with up to 50 guests who can show a negative test result.
