Ville de Liège started its construction for its brand new tram line in May 2019. Tram Liège is still on time and reached a symbolic step last week. The 24 future stations are now placed and named along the 11.7km trajectory. The construction calendar will remain the same, with an expected end of the construction work around June 2021. After a try out period the tram's commercial use would be implemented by October 2022. The project aims to be a faster and more efficient public transportation system than what is currently in place. The line would also help decreasing traffic congestion on the roads of the west bank as well as contribute decreasing the overal CO2 emission within the center of Liège. Source: RTC Télé Liège
