Urban planning

Willy Demeyer, mayor of #Liège has announced that the collège communal de Liège granted approval for another five years of hosting FESTIVAL LES ARDENTES. The 14th edition of the festival last July saw quite a success for its last edition in #Coronmeuse. The site being transformed in an éco-quartier, another site in Rocourt had been proposed when considering the logistics of the 15th edition. Mayor Demeyer confirmed on this week that the festival will take place in #Rocourt next July. "We want to keep the festival Les Ardentes in Liège," he said, not without certain guarantees though. Guarantees in terms of respect for sound standards but also in terms of mobility and accessibility to all nearby homes and businesses." The festival should be hosted on a 20 acre field, from 9 to 12 July 2020. The five year agreement will allow the Ardentes to install upcoming editions in Rocourt, under annual evaluation to allow constant improvement in the organisation of each edition. The city also required that no fixed layout be decided before the first two editions, as to better define any potential urban development in agreement with the whole neighborhood.
